Background-
Azets has named Nicola MacAulay as its new private client tax partner for Kent, filling a role the firm created as client demand across the region picks up. MacAulay takes up the post at Azets’ Maidstone office and covers all five of the firm’s Kent locations, including Ashford, Canterbury, Sandwich, and Sidcup.
Her work spans advisory and compliance on personal tax matters, covering income tax, capital gains, and inheritance tax. She moves from S&W, where she served as private client director, and previously held a role at Creaseys in Tunbridge Wells.
MacAulay said she was drawn to the firm’s working culture. “I am trusted by clients to provide sound practical advice tailored to their personal circumstances,” she said, adding that her client base mainly includes individuals who built wealth through entrepreneurship, private equity, or land sales.
Eddi Taylor, regional managing partner for the South-East at Azets, called MacAulay an exceptional operator. Taylor noted that MacAulay’s ability to earn client trust sets her apart, adding that her arrival gives the Kent team a real boost at a key stage of growth.
Azets runs over 9,000 professionals across 190 locations in eight countries. The Kent appointments come as the group continues expanding its UK regional footprint. It recently brought in Sarah Palmer as a partner at its Leeds office, reinforcing its audit and tax team in the North of England. The firm has not disclosed terms of the appointment.
