Background
Rapid International Limited has provided a Rapidmix RMX400CW continuous mixer plant to Breedon Ireland for the Adare Bypass project in order to help execute an important road infrastructure project which demands huge quantities of mixed and bound construction material.
The Adare Bypass is considered to be one of the biggest road schemes in Ireland intended for reducing traffic congestion in Adare Village. The scheme carries added weight as Ireland prepares to host the Ryder Cup in 2027 at nearby Adare Manor.
Breedon Ireland, part of the wider Breedon Group and headquartered alongside operations across aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete and civil engineering, needed a system capable of high output and consistent accuracy across a multi-phase build. Rapid International, based in County Armagh, supplied the RMX400CW to meet this need.
Cement Bound Granular Material is manufactured by this machine in quantities ranging up to 400 tons per hour with precision in the mix of one percent. The portable nature of the machine makes its relocation on-site very easy. Rapid International has also provided ongoing technical support to ensure smooth operation.
Brian McManus, Managing Director of Breedon Ireland’s Contracting division, said the plant delivered the high output needed to keep pace with a demanding schedule while consistently producing the required material quality. He also noted the benefits of its mobility, ease of use and the value of continued technical backing.
Work continues on the 7km motorway, which includes a three-span bridge over the River Maigue and several new interchanges.
